I am definitely not the type of person to ask people to help me, my pride gets in the way and in all honesty it was Maroon 5 that taught me to never beg for anything, as they say “I’d rather die on my two feet than live down on my knees.” Life for me has been pretty average nothing overly dramatic or intense except for every now and then. No matter what people tell me or what the people who have hurt me tell me I know one fact and it’s for certain, whatever they have done to hurt me is enough to become a part of me and mold me into the person I am today.

I began the project “The Perfect Prom Date” with the goal in mind that Adam Levine would go to prom with me. At first it was a thought, maybe if I had the best date in the whole world people would respect me, look at me differently not just like as a joke that’s all big talk. I don’t party like the average teenager and I don’t go out as much and that’s because in part I don’t like it and in part I’m to self-conscious of myself and paranoid to have fun. I AM as crazy as they come.

Not only would Adam Levine be the best date but the actual entire band has been an inspiration to me for a while. A little while back my English teacher had ask our class, ‘what is an example of something that makes you feel at home?’ Now, maybe I didn’t understand the question but the first answer I blurted out was Maroon 5. Everyone else’s answer was their mom, their sister, their dad, their grandma but mine was Maroon 5. Home for me is a place of comfort, something familiar, something cozy, it reminds you of your roots, the place where you feel most safe the place where you’re free from the world and that is how Maroon 5 makes me feel. With the whole idea of “The Perfect Prom Date” I just wanted to have fun with it. I have never in my life done anything this big or bold, I said why not take a chance. I am prepared with the reality that it may not happen and that’s ok … I have never really been the type of person to be persistent and consistent with a project, I give up pretty easily and that’s a bad habit but for some reason with this project I CANT GIVE UP, I have a really strong presence telling me not to.

Maroon 5 is much more than just a band to me, much more than just a really hot lead singer or phase. They are and have been the shoulder and strength that I have needed for so long. I am not a koo-koo crazy fan and it’s so difficult for people to get that, I am a devoted fan but I’m also an average girl that really looks up to the band. They are the band that I am proud of and will always be a fan no matter what.

Over all the point of this was to maybe help explain to you guys why liking the facebook page or signing the petition means a lot to me. I appreciate my tumblr family and hope you guys will continue to spread the word and get this to happen. If it does and I’m on TV, my tumblr followers and helpers would be the first I mention and thank, I know the tumblr world is big and I hope this letter wasn’t written in vain. Help me out tumblr world!!!!
